What the difference looked like in our films

  • Seedance 2.0 rendered episode 1 of The Fall of Kalak: 53 clips for $61, $1.15 a clip at our account price.
  • Seedance 2.0 Mini rendered episodes 2–9 of the same film: 374 clips for $52, $0.14 a clip, roughly 8.3 times cheaper per clip. Mini also rendered The Wolf Mother (431 clips), Blood Sun: The Fall of Kratos and every episode of High Note.
  • Seedance 2.0 Fast rendered The Emperor's Pleasure Court, Dragon Rising and BROODFALL (972 clips). At 16:9 it held character identity as well as Mini did at 9:16, and dialogue came through essentially word-perfect. About 1 in 15 Fast clips failed once and passed on retry.
  • The cost of picking the wrong one: using Fast where Mini would have done cost us $101 extra across our first five series.

What to pick when

  • Mini for long series, drafts and anything where volume matters more than the last bit of detail. Render the pilot on it too, so the look matches from episode one.
  • Fast when Mini's output is not holding up for your look, especially widescreen work with detailed sets, at a moderate premium.
  • Seedance 2.0 for 1080p, hero shots and short ads where each frame is on screen for a long time.
  • Do not switch tiers mid-series unless you accept a visible change in look.

In Arc a 10-second 720p clip costs 94 credits on Mini, 226 on Fast and 751 on Seedance 2.0; at 1080p, Seedance 2.0 costs 1,689.
