ANSWER

How long can an AI video be?

Short answer

A single generation is usually short: Veo 3.1 makes 8-second clips, Kling 3.0 up to 15 seconds and Arc 4–15 seconds, with a few tools going to 30 seconds or, for talking avatars, minutes. Long videos are assembled from many clips; our longest AI film runs 56 minutes.

Maximum length per generation

How long videos are actually made

Every long AI film we know of, ours included, is a sequence of short clips that share references. High Note runs 56 minutes and The Wolf Mother 47 minutes from 431 clips. Short clips are an advantage as much as a limit: a missed shot costs one regeneration, not a whole scene.

  1. Break the story into shots of 4–15 seconds, one action per shot.
  2. Build references for every recurring character and location.
  3. Generate shot by shot and regenerate the misses.
  4. Assemble in order, add narration, music and captions, and export.

When a longer single generation helps

  • Talking-head and avatar content, where one continuous take is the point.
  • Long continuous camera moves that would show a seam if cut.
  • Fast drafts, when you want to see a whole beat at once.

Where Katechon Arc fits

Arc is built for long videos made the practical way: 4–15-second shots planned into episodes or chapters, assembled into a film you can download.

Arc cannot render a single clip longer than 15 seconds or a long talking-avatar take; tools built for avatars do that.

People also ask

Can Veo 3.1 make longer videos?

A single Veo 3.1 generation is 8 seconds per Google's documentation. Longer videos are built by joining or extending clips; check Google's current documentation for extension limits.

What is the best AI video generator for long videos?

One that holds many shots in one project with shared character and location references, because long videos are assembled from short clips.
