ANSWER

How do you publish an AI short drama on TikTok?

Short answer

Two routes: post episodes or trailers to your own account, or submit the whole series to TikTok's short-drama programme, Drama Center, which in our October 2026 submissions required at least 30 main episodes, proof of how the series was made and episode pricing. Check TikTok's current rules first; we report our own experience.

Route 1: your own account

Post episodes, recaps or trailers as regular videos. This is the fastest route and the right one for testing a premise. Follow TikTok's own rules on AI-generated content labels and on any monetization programme you join; we do not summarise those here because we could not read TikTok's help pages on 2026-10-18.

Route 2: a series submission

TikTok also runs a short-drama programme where studios and creators submit full series. Separately, TikTok Minis is a developer framework through which third-party short-drama platforms show their dramas inside the TikTok app.

What our Drama Center submissions involved (October 2026)

  • At least 30 main episodes. Drafts saved with fewer, but Submit refused them.
  • Proof material showing the series was made by us; we used AI-generation screenshots and raw source files from our production.
  • Pricing per episode. We chose hosted prices of about $0.29–$0.33 per episode with 8 free episodes.
  • A copyright review after submission, during which the series could not be edited.
  • Derivative materials (trailers, recaps) uploaded to the series, which had to be 9:16, at least 1080p, between 15 seconds and 20 minutes.
  • Language detection: a caption-free film was detected as the wrong language and rejected; a version with burned-in English captions passed.
  • A self-certification checklist covering rights to the content, including the material used to make it.

Prepare before you submit

  1. Episodes as separate 9:16 files, numbered, with burned-in captions in the series language.
  2. A cover with the lead's face and the conflict.
  3. Three to five trailers of 30–45 seconds at 1080p or more.
  4. Proof of production: storyboards, reference sheets, generation records.
  5. Your rights position: only use characters, stories and music you own or license.

Our 720p vertical masters needed upscaling for the 1080p derivative rule; see upscaling AI video.

Where Katechon Arc fits

Arc produces the episodes, references and storyboards you need for both routes, and those production records double as proof of how the series was made.

Arc does not post to TikTok or submit series; you upload through TikTok yourself.
