ANSWER

What is the best AI storyboard generator?

Short answer

It depends on what the board is for. For pitching, LTX Studio exports animated storyboards and decks; for planning a sequence before video, Higgsfield's Popcorn makes up to 8 frames per generation; for boards that feed straight into a multi-episode production, Arc storyboards every shot from the script plan.

What each tool says it does

LTX Studio: Splits a script into scenes and shots; exports animated storyboards (MP4) and pitch decks (PDF); AI storyboards need the Standard plan. Source: LTX Studio (ltx.io/studio/platform/ai-storyboard-generator), checked 2026-10-17

Higgsfield: Popcorn, its AI storyboard generator, makes up to 8 frames per generation for planning a sequence before video. Source: Higgsfield (higgsfield.ai/blog/script-to-ai-storyboard-shot-list), checked 2026-10-17

Topview: Drama Studio takes a script or novel, builds reusable characters, locations and props, and makes shot-by-shot storyboards; Single Episode and Series modes; 9:16 recommended. Source: Topview (topview.ai/drama-studio), checked 2026-10-17

Runway: Runway Agent proposes a concept and story beats, makes multi-shot video with voiceover, dialogue and music, and has a timeline editor. Source: Runway (runway.com/news/introducing-runway-agent), checked 2026-10-17

How Arc storyboards

  • Every shot in the confirmed script plan gets a storyboard frame drawn with the project's character, location and prop references.
  • Grid storyboards put several shots on one image. We use 2x2 grids: on BROODFALL, 3x3 grids drifted off their cut lines and 2x2 gave clean cells.
  • In a chained grid, a cell is the first frame of one shot and the last frame of the one before, so consecutive shots join up.
  • Approved frames feed video generation directly.

How to choose

Which kind of storyboard tool fits which job
JobWhat to look for
Pitch a project to a clientExport to PDF or animated boards
Plan one sequence before generating videoFast frames from a prompt, with references
Produce a whole seriesBoards generated from the script, with shared references, that feed video directly
Previs for a live-action shootCamera and lens control; video generation matters less

Cost matters less than fit: a frame in Arc is 13 credits, against 94–751 for a 10-second 720p clip, so boards are where a mistake is cheapest to fix.

Where Katechon Arc fits

Arc is the right storyboard tool when the board is a production step: frames come from the script plan and the shared references and become the starting point of each clip.

Arc does not export pitch decks or animated board PDFs, and it is not a previs tool for live-action camera planning.

People also ask

Is there a free AI storyboard generator?

Some tools include storyboard frames in free allowances, but LTX Studio says its AI storyboards need the Standard plan, and Arc has no free plan.
