## The story

Years after engineered plagues killed most of humanity, an alien Brood is remaking America. Lt. Cole Mercer burns its horse-sized stalkers for a living. When his gunship goes down in a pink cloud of alien dust, he is buried alive in the wreck with his burned mentor, watches the Brood dance and worship the light, and starts to wonder if they can be talked to.

## How it was made with Katechon Arc

1. Used grid storyboards: each group of shots is one chained grid where a cell is the first frame of one shot and the last frame of the one before.
2. Rendered 972 clips on Seedance 2.0 Fast before the provider balance ran out, then pivoted from a full film to a fast cut using only existing clips.
3. Four editor agents each picked shots for one act from contact sheets; the edit decision list rendered to a 364-shot, 10-minute cut with a cold open.

## What we learned

- 3x3 grids drifted off their cut lines. Breaking every four shots into a 2x2 grid gave clean cells.
- A lead whose shaved head and grey beard read like a famous action star had about 5% of his shots blocked as a lookalike. Avoid that archetype; re-stage blocked shots with the face covered or from behind.
