# What is TikTok Minis?

**Short answer:** TikTok Minis is TikTok's framework for third-party mini apps that run inside the TikTok app; one use is letting viewers watch short dramas from third-party platforms without leaving TikTok. It is aimed at developer partners such as short-drama platforms, not at individual creators uploading videos.

## What TikTok says

TikTok Minis is a mobile webpage-based product framework. It allows TikTok users to watch short dramas from third-party platforms within the TikTok app. The documentation is for developer partners. ## What it means for viewers

When you open a short drama inside TikTok that comes from another platform, it may be running as a Mini: a web-based app embedded in TikTok, with that platform's episodes, and often its own way of unlocking paid episodes. Whether a particular Mini is trustworthy depends on the platform behind it, so check who publishes it before paying.

## What it means for creators

- Minis are built by developer partners, typically short-drama platforms, not by individual creators.
- An independent creator reaches TikTok viewers by posting videos or through TikTok's own short-drama programme; see [publishing an AI short drama on TikTok](https://arc.katechon.technology/answers/how-to-publish-an-ai-short-drama-on-tiktok).
- A series distributed by a short-drama platform could reach TikTok users through that platform's Mini.

## Minis versus posting on TikTok

Two ways a short drama appears on TikTok:

| | TikTok Minis | Posting to your account |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Who builds it | A developer partner platform | You |
| Where episodes live | On the third-party platform, shown inside TikTok | On TikTok |
| Payments | Set by the platform | Through TikTok's own programmes, if eligible |
| Good for | Platforms with a catalogue of series | Creators testing or promoting a series |

We read TikTok's developer documentation on 2026-10-18; this page does not cover TikTok's commercial terms for Minis partners.

## Where Katechon Arc fits

If you supply series to a short-drama platform, Arc can produce the 9:16 episodes that end up in its catalogue.

Arc is not a Mini and has no TikTok integration; it does not distribute or sell episodes.

## People also ask

### Is TikTok Minis legit?

TikTok Minis is TikTok's own framework, documented on TikTok for Developers. Each Mini is built by a third party, so judge a specific Mini by the platform behind it.
