# Can you monetize AI-generated videos on YouTube?

**Short answer:** Yes, if the content is original: YouTube's monetization policies allow AI use that reflects your own creative voice, but channels whose content is mass-produced, generic or repetitive, including AI content made from unoriginal templates, are not eligible. Realistic AI content must also be disclosed, which by itself does not affect earning.

## What YouTube's policy says

On July 15, 2025 YouTube renamed its "repetitious content" policy to "inauthentic content". Monetized content must not be mass-produced, generic, repetitive or manipulative. (Source: YouTube Help, channel monetization policies, https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1311392, checked 2026-10-18)

Not allowed under generic or repetitive content: AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates giving the impression of mass production. Allowed: AI used in a way that reflects your unique creative voice, for example using AI to visualize a unique character and narrative you invented. AI personas presenting as experts on health, legal, finance or politics are not allowed to monetize. (Source: YouTube Help, channel monetization policies, https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1311392, checked 2026-10-18)

Disclosing AI content alone won't limit a video's audience or impact its eligibility to earn money. (Source: YouTube Help, disclosing altered or synthetic content, https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/14328491, checked 2026-10-18)

## What that means for AI dramas and films

- An original story with characters you invented is the case YouTube names as allowed.
- Dozens of near-identical videos from one template, such as the same slideshow with a new voice-over, is the case it names as not allowed.
- Disclose realistic AI content in YouTube Studio when you upload; stylised, clearly non-realistic animation does not need it. See [the disclosure rule](https://arc.katechon.technology/answers/do-you-have-to-disclose-ai-generated-video-on-youtube).
- You still need to meet the YouTube Partner Program's eligibility thresholds, which this page does not list; check YouTube's own requirements.

## Our approach

We publish our films as long-form originals on YouTube, one story per upload, with credits and descriptions that say how they were made. Each is a distinct story with its own cast, world and look, which is the opposite of templated mass production. We do not publish earnings here.

## Checklist before you upload

1. Is the story yours, with characters you invented?
2. Would a viewer see real creative work in this video, not a template?
3. Does any realistic scene make a real person appear to say or do something? Then it must be disclosed, and may not be allowed at all.
4. Is the AI use disclosed where the content looks realistic?

## Where Katechon Arc fits

Arc helps you make original, story-driven series and films, the kind of AI use YouTube's policy describes as allowed.

Arc does not upload to YouTube, set disclosure labels or check policy compliance; that is your responsibility at upload.

## People also ask

### Do AI YouTube channels get monetized?

They can, if the channel meets YouTube's eligibility requirements and its content is original rather than mass-produced or templated, according to YouTube's channel monetization policies.

### Does labelling a video as AI stop it earning money?

No. YouTube says disclosing AI content alone won't limit a video's audience or its eligibility to earn money.
